Set up your NFC dog tag
One contact name and one phone number, so whoever finds your dog can call you.
Asked us to program it when you ordered? It's already done. Just unlock your phone and tap.
1 Make your contact page
When someone taps your tag, they'll see a simple page with the name and a big Call button. It works the same on iPhone and Android. The tag holds one contact and one number.
2 Copy your tag link

3 Get the free app
Unlock your phone, then install NFC Tools. On Android, also make sure NFC is on (Settings, then Connected devices or Connections).

4 Write the link to your tag
- Open NFC Tools and tap Write.
- Tap Add a record, then choose Custom URL / URI. Not the plain "URL / URI" option: that one adds its own https:// and the link won't work.
- Paste your tag link and tap OK.
- Tap Write and hold the tag against your phone's NFC spot (iPhone: top edge, near the front camera. Android: the back, around the middle) until it says Write complete.
5 Test it
Close NFC Tools, unlock your phone and tap the tag. You should see the contact page with a big Call button. 🎉
⚠️ Never tap "Lock tag" or "Set password" in NFC Tools. Locking is permanent: the tag can never be changed again.
Moved or changed numbers? Open your private edit link and update it. The tag itself never needs rewriting.
Not working?
- Move the tag slowly around the NFC spot. Thick or metal phone cases can block it.
- Android: check NFC is turned on.
- iPhone 7, 8 or X: open the NFC reader from Control Center first.
- Still stuck? Send us a message and tell us your phone model. We'll help.
